November Favorites

So since the month of November is winding down, I thought I would do a favorites for the month. So here it is!
.

1. So first, the background is black velvet. I have just been loving it for leggings or shirts or even dresses! I think it's perfect for the winter months and I wear it literally all the time. It's just so cool and different and kind of edgy. Ah I love it!

2. The first picture is of Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. I use it when I get out of the shower at night before bed, and then in the morning again before school. It helps define beautiful beachy waves and controls frizz really well. I just love this stuff! It has sea salt from the Dead Sea and sea kelp, so it's natural and really good for your hair. This is my secret to perfect waves.

3. The next picture is of lavender lipstick. I think it looks so beautiful and provides a nice contrast with all of the dark lipsticks women wear nowadays. A good brand for this is Lime Crime. I just love how this looks and I've been on a really big lavender kick for a few months now.

4. The necklace is from Empty Casket, and it says witch on it. I bought one in silver, and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival. It's so cute and perfect for me since I am basically a witch. I love this!

5. These beautiful pants are from Gypsy Warrior. I also bought these and am waiting for them. But I just cannot wait to get these. I mean, look at that! It's like the 1970s threw up on your pants! And that's exactly the kind of look I want- vomit. (Note: Why am I so weird?) But I love bell bottoms and the pattern of these. I've seen a lot of these at Tilly's and Pacsun, too, so I think they're actually coming into style. (My style is usually the opposite of what's popular, so that surprised me.)

I hope everyone enjoyed this list, and I'm looking forward to making more! Have a beautiful December!

Tonya, who writes this one, has the most beautiful pictures! I could look at them for hours. Plus she is gaaawgeous and has the prettiest hair! She is a style inspiration.

Feminism- Dress Codes

To me, feminism is a supporting equal rights for women. In my life as a high school student, I don't feel like I am really that discriminated against, except for dress codes.

Dress codes are utterly ridiculous. They should only have the bare minimum, like preventing wildly offensive slogans on shirts and things and making sure people actually do wear clothes. But determining how long of sleeves a person can wear or how short shorts can be is ridiculous.

These rules are mostly aimed at girls. Girls are generally the only ones who wear short shorts, and this is only because it is extremely hot outside and on buses (at least in my area). Also, girls are more apt to wear spaghetti straps or strapless shirts. What about our shoulders is so enticing? I don't understand. Boys could wear tank tops and be fine at my school but girls could not. This is blatant sexism.

My middle school principal said these rules were to keep the boys in line and undistracted. This is wrong. Why should I have to cover myself up and be uncomfortably hot just to keep the boys from "losing control"?

What schools should be doing is teaching boys to control themselves. I strongly believe that by teaching girls that it is their bodies that make boys distracted, and that they must cover up to stop this, public schools and therefore the state governments are promoting rape culture. And this must stop.

Occult

So I have recently been getting more into the occult, as I would call it. Now I am a Christian, in fact a Southern Baptist, which is a very old fashioned Christian sect. But I like to think that we can change our destinies and see what will happen, and change things through occult methods.

So I am learning how to read tarot cards as well as palms, and I think I may buy a spell book for "magic" spells. We'll see how this goes, and even if it doesn't work too well it will make an interesting conversation starter in the future.

Also, crystal healing is interesting me as well, and I usually wear a quartz chakra necklace to absorb negative energy around me and within me. I'm trying to find more crystals with healing and helping properties.

I'm looking for good luck charms from different religions, like hamsa hands or pentacles, to wear as necklaces and things.

Is anyone else interested or does anyone have any suggestions?

Free as a Bird

Hello everyone! I just wanted to write about some more abstract things I suppose.

I've been feeling recently that the idea of our public schools is wrong. We shouldn't have to be defined by our grades or ACT score. We shouldn't put so much stress on arbitrary numbers. In the end, we won't be remembered as being valedictorian or not. We should be judged based off of what we do. It's so much more important to be a good person than it is to be good in school.

I feel that we should be educated about what we are doing to this planet rather than the history of some country that we will never visit. Sure, it's good to know, but it has no effect on us. We should learn what is important. I feel the environment is at the top of this. Most people have no idea the terrible things we are doing to it. But they know how to graph a polynomial! This is ridiculous.

The only way I think we can make a difference with this is to learn more about what is important in school instead of classes over irrelevant things.

Also, it is important to be free. To get your own happiness from yourself, to live for yourself, to be absolutely free. This means nourishing your own body, mind, and spirit. It means to be peaceful and kind. To be open minded and caring. If we all just did this, we could be free of war and petty drama.

Paul McCartney

So I saw Paul McCartney last Thursday and it was so amazing! Paul is 72 years old and still sounds so good! This was my second time seeing him, and he was just as good as he was two years ago. I love him so much, and I absolutely love The Beatles. I just melt when I see him. I mean:
Gah he's so cute. But the show was absolutely wonderful. I have a few pictures to share from it. Paul is a beautiful man and I am so lucky to have been able to see him twice.

How to Earn Money as a Teenager!

So I have decided to share the ways that I earn money through different means. I have an Android, so all apps listed are on the Google Play store. I'm not sure if they're on the Apple store

1. Swagbucks
See my last post, but here is my referral again. Also, they pay you in different gift cards, like PayPal or Amazon.
www.swagbucks.com/refer/hmnewberry

2. Receipt Hog
This is an app where you take pictures of grocery receipts, which I steal from when my parents go shopping, and get coins for it. Then you can redeem these for either a cash payout or an Amazon gift card. Plus you get a cute little pig that oinks when you tap it!

3. AppNana
AppNana allows you to earn points just for opening the app once a day or watching videos, which are the two I do, but you can also download apps for points too. You can redeem these for tons of different gift cards, like Amazon, iTunes, and PayPal. If you decide to download this, my referral is h5934478. If you input that, you'll get a bonus of 2,500 points.

4. Shopkick
This is such a wonderful app! I cannot stress that enough! You get points for coming back to it every day, and points for going into different stores, like Walmart, Old Navy, and a ton of others. You also get points for scanning certain items in the stores, and more for buying. You redeem the points for gift cards to Starbucks (awesome, right?), American Eagle, Target, plus actual items like iPads and TVs.

5. Panel App
Panel App earns you points just for having your GPS on on your phone. That's all you do! And you can redeem it for Amazon and PayPal gift cards.

6. Google Opinion Rewards
This app is put out by Google, and it pays you in Google Play Store credits. All you do is answer short surveys about different things and profit!

7. iPinion
IPinion is another survey app that allows you to take surveys to earn points that you can redeem for different gift cards.

8. Vinted
This is both an app and a website, and I cannot brag on this enough! It allows you to sell your old clothes that you don't wear to other teenage girls around the country. I've earned over ten dollars and I haven't been on the site very long. My name on there is hmnewberry. Check it out if you're interested!

9. Fiverr
Fiverr is a website and app that allows you to sell a service that you'll do for five dollars. In two days of being on there, I've earned over twenty dollars. My services include writing online reviews of things. It's that easy! My only issue is that it pays to PayPal, which I'm not old enough to have on my own, but I use my mom's.

10. Clashot
Clashot is an app where you upload interesting pictures and people buy them for use in advertising and things. I haven't earned any money from this yet, but it's good to have the option of earning from here.

Swagbucks!

Hello my lovelies! I want to share something with you that has earned me over 50 dollars! It's really handy and whether you do a lot or just a little you'll earn very quickly! It is called Swagbucks, which is a weird name I admit, but it's so handy. I'll leave my referral link at the bottom if you're interested. You have to be 16 to join, but there are other ways I know to earn money for people younger than that. There's even an app for smartphones that you can watch videos on and earn.
Swagbucks is literally a godsend for teens, stay at home parents, or anyone else really.

So I guess I should write a little about me. I am sixteen years old and a junior in high school. My name is Hannah. I live in Kentucky and I would call myself an old soul. I love The Beatles and am going to see Paul McCartney this month! I'll make sure to upload pictures. I have a wonderful boyfriend named Zach and two cats and a dog. I want to be a veterinarian and absolutely love animals! And that is basically me.
